After Dexter's titular character lost his wife to a devious serial killer and his girlfriend to a happier life without her Dark Passenger, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is on his own this year as he tries to figure out single fatherhood. Fortunately, he'll have the help of the new nanny, Jaime Batista (Aimee Garcia), who happens to be the younger sister of Sgt. Angel Batista (David Zayas)...
Because Dexter was able to open himself up to the possibility of finding love, will a relationship develop between them?
Garcia: Maybe. I can't say. I always joke about being on the show, I feel like I work for the CIA and on a need-to-know basis. I do know that they're in close quarters and she's basically the mother of his kid right now in raising him, changing his diapers and feeding him. Harrison means the world to Dexter, so anyone who's helping Harrison live a healthy life in his developmental years, obviously holds a good place in his heart. You only get one true love in every lifetime, so Lumen [Julia Stiles] was probably that for Dexter...

Very little is known about Aimee Garcia's hush hush role on the sixth season of Showtime's Dexter, except that Garcia will be playing the new nanny to Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) son, Harrison. We caught up with the lovely Aimee (who's part-Puerto Rican and part-Mexican) to get the inside scoop on what we can expect from the new season and whether she'll be playing Dexter's love interest.
Tell us about your character on Dexter!
She's super fun. She's cool, sassy, sexy and smart. She a Florida girl who moves to Miami to go to grad school — she's studying child psychology so being the nanny is the perfect job for her and she's actually very good at it. Harrison really takes to her and she kind of let's things roll off her back. She's the kind of girl you'd want to hang out and be friends with — she's carefree and kind of a lively Cuban spirit. Also, she's very comfortable in a bikini. The first time you see her, she's in a bikini.

Ah, fresh blood. We aren't exactly sure what happened to Dexter's old nanny, but we don't mind another new face for season six one bit, particularly one this pretty.
Fresh off the cancellation of ABC's Off the Map, TVLinereports that Dexter has recruited Map star Aimee Garcia for a new role in the coming season as baby Harrison's new nanny Jamie, and none other than Angel Batista's sister herself! Could there be romance in the air, amidst all the blood spatter? After Lumen left (and thank Harry she did), we know Dexter doesn't mind getting down a bit in the wake of his wife's murder...
Garcia joins several new faces for the cast of season six, most recently hip-hop artist and actor Mos Def, and the big news ofColin Hanks' season-long recurring role as "Travis, a highly intelligent young expert on ancient artifacts who gets linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami."
